Description

Department: Internal Medicine; Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

Job Summary: The Ohio State University Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism is seeking applications for a clinician-researcher position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an established interest in diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, and/or related areas. Experience as a board-certified academic physician is desired with experience and a track-record in clinical research in diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, and/or related areas.  The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, within the Department of Internal Medicine and will provide direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; participate in quality assessment and improvement activities; serve as a research and clinical educator and mentor for medical students, residents, and fellows, and work with allied medical professionals in the specialty of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and/or design clinical trials, work with our existing and extensive clinical trials unit and Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center, and establish or maintain an independent clinical research program.  The individual will be expected to ensure that continuing medical education requirements are met and participate in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO}. Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and a fellowship training program in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism with board certification is required.
